Dr. Jayshree Chander was born in Chandigarh, India and was raised in Plover, Wisconsin, the town with love in its heart, the home of Plover Potatoes. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Medical School, completed her internship at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, and finished a residency in family and community medicine at the University of California-San Francisco.   She earned her Masters in Public Health from UC-Berkeley and is currently a fellow in environmental and occupational medicine at UCSF. She cares for patients part-time at the Tom Waddell Clinic for the Homeless in SF and makes Nei Jing Now! too. She teaches medical students the foundations of patient care as an assistant clinical professor without salary at UCSF. Jayshree is also a performing artist/storyteller, an ashiatsu practitioner, an Iyengar yoga teacher, and a dedicated vipassana meditator. A doctor by profession, a dancer, drummer, dreamer by obsession she is sometimes known as an AABBCCDDDD (Asian American bred (and buttered), cross-cultural, creative, dancing, drumming, desi doctor).
